QALA-I-NAW (SW): The Taliban insurgents have abducted four health workers from Maqar district in Badghis province.
Zaher Bahand, provincial governor’s spokesman, confirming the abduction told Salam Watandar that the abductees are employees of a local non-governmental organization (NGO). “The health workers were travelling to Maqar district without informing security forces”, added Bahand.
The spokesman further said the abductees are taken to unknown location by the Taliban. The Taliban have not commented on this incident yet.
The local NGO works with the provincial Directorate of Health to provide health services to the public in the province.
