Takhar residents protest for Cookcha road construction

TAKHAR (SW): Residents of adjacent districts of Cookcha in Takhar called on the government to start the construction of the road in these districts.

Two months ago, the road pavement was commissioned by the National Procurement Commission, but so far it has not been started.

Residents of adjacent districts of Cookkcha said that due to the bad condition of this route; many patients have died before reaching the hospital.

The residents of Cookkcha warned that if the government didn’t start the construction of the road, they will “come out to streets and protest”. On the other hand, the local authorities informed that the construction of the road will be started soonest possible.

Sunatullah Taimuri, spokesperson for the Governor of Takhar said that the local government will seriously pursue this project.

The NPC announced two months ago that the contracts for the construction of Khawaja Bahauddin and Dasht Qala roads have been signed with Faiz and Ilyas companies. Though, the officials of these two companies have said that the government has not allowed them to start the construction work yet.
