KUNDUZ CITY (SW): A local official in Kunduz province has claimed over 100 people got killed in an air raid on a mosque in Dasht-e-Archi district.
Nasruddin Saadi, governor of the district, informed Salam Watandar, the air raid took place at around noon in the Daftani village of the Dasht-e-Archi district. He claimed a religious gathering was underway when the air raid took place. The district governor claimed over 70 people got killed, and casualties are on the rise.
According to the locals, two aircrafts targeted the area. Mohammad Ibrahim and Jamal, two residents of the area, said up to 500 people were present when the air strike took place.
Meanwhile, Gen. Hameedullah Hamidi, head of the Afghan National Police (ANP) in the area, has asserted that 24 Taliban militants – including Tajikistanis and members of the Queeta Shura, are killed in this raid.
The Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahed, has asserted 150 religious scholars, civilians and children have been killed in this air raid.
