
HERAT CITY (SW): Local officials in Heart informed of a survey carried out on Herat-Torghundi railway line which is worth an estimated $1.6 million.
Muhammad Asif Rahimi, governor of Herat, stated that Herat-Torghundi railway plays a crucial role in connecting Afghanistan to central Asian markets. He added that the project would bring prosperity and economic growth for Afghanistan. He urged the implementers to pay attention to this project and speed up its construction.
Rahimi added that railway line passes through Kashk-e-Kohna, Kashk-e-Robatsangi, Gulran and Angil districts.
He further said that once Herat-Torghundi railway is connected to Herat city, it would be connected to Herat-Khawaf railway line which would subsequently connect Afghanistan to central Asia.
He noted that Herat-Torghundi is a national railway line project that connects Afghanistan to the international markets.
