KABUL (SW): After Kabul’s support of the Helmand sit-in protests, now the residents of Nangarhar, Kunar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, and Zabul also announced their support for the Helmandi protesters.

Moqadas Ahmadzai, a civil society activist in Nangarhar called for the end of the war and called on the groups sparking insecurity in Afghanistan to end the genocide of Afghans.

Abasin Bahir, another protester said that they want peace on the two sides of the Durand Line, in order to achieve their rights under the umbrella of peace. He called on the Taliban to accept the peace offer of the government and announce the cease-fire.

Dozens of people in Kandahar also embarked on sit-in protests under a tent today in support of Helmandi protesters and called on the militant groups to accept the peace offer of the government and end the war.

On the 24th March, a car bomb explosion rocked the city of Laskargah killing dozens and wounded many others, and subsequently the residents of Helmand, with a civilian movement, set up a tent for peace in Lashkargah city.

The residents of Helmand embarked on sit-in protest under a tent followed by a hunger strike which caused similar protests in their support in other provinces and are still ongoing.

Similarly, nearly two months ago, dozens of Pashtuns were protesting after the death of a young Pashtun man in Karachi Pakistan, and subsequently a range of protesters rallied to Islamabad and several Afghan provinces. The protesters demanded peace on both sides of the Durand Line.
