GHAZNI (SW) – A suicide car bombing killed at least 12 people and injured over 170 in Ghazni city on Sunday, an official confirmed.
According to Waheedullah Mayar, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, most of the victims of this brazen attack are civilians, including school children. The provincial administration noted that two employees of the NDS and four civilians got killed in this attack that also left 177 people injured.
Spokesman for the provincial governor, Mohammad Arif Noori, said an overwhelming majority of the victims are young children of a nearby private school. The blast has shattered a number of nearby homes, hotels and left deep scars of black smoke all around. At least ten residential homes have been seriously damaged.
Via a statement, the Taliban took responsibility for the attack.
President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani termed the attack “a crime against humanity” and said Taliban by perpetrating such acts, once again revealed their clear hostility against the people of Afghanistan.
