KABUL (SW) – Two back-to-back suicide bombings in Kabul and Logar provinces claimed multiple lives on Thursday.
The interior ministry spokesman, Nusrat Rahimi, confirmed at least ten people got killed and more than 40 injured following a suicide car bombing in Kabul on Thursday.
The spokesman said the incident took place in the Shash Darak area of the 9th police district when a mini-bus packed with explosives was blown-up near a check post. He added the security forces cordoned off the area after the attack that also damaged scores of vehicles, public and private property.
The Taliban took responsibility for the attack. The group said a convoy of the foreign troops was their target.
The second attack took place in Pul-e-Alam, the provincial capital of Logar province. According to commander of the army’s 4th infantry battalion, Gen. Abdul Mateen Hussain, four people including women and children, got killed and 11 others got injured in this attack. The Taliban took responsibility for the attack.
This comes days after a massive Taliban-claimed tractor bombing in the Kabul Bai area that left more than 100 people injured and killed.
