JALALABAD (SW) – At least nine people got killed and 12 more got wounded in a suicide bombing in Nangarhar province, an official confirmed on Saturday.
Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman for the governor, said the incident took place in the Family area of the sixth district in capital Jalalabad city. He confirmed civilians, including children, are among the nine people killed and a number of others injured.
Fareed Khan, spokesman for the police in Nangarhar, said the convoy of Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander from Chaparhaar distirc was targeted in this attack.
According to a local elder, Malak Hakeem, the ALP commander, Zamaray and five of his guards got killed in this attack.
