LASHKARGAH (SW): At least 25 people are confirmed dead and over 50 wounded in a suicide car bombing outside a bank in Lashkargah, Helmand.
Umar Zwak, spokesman for the provincial governor, has said a number of wounded are in critical state. The attacker rammed his car loaded with explosives into a crowd of civilians and security personnel queuing-up to collect their salaries from the Lashkargah city branch of the New Kabul Bank (NKB).
The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack. The same NKB branch in Lashkargah witnessed a suicide attack in February this year which claimed seven lives.
