KABUL (SW): Successful team auction for the Shpageeza Cricket League was held at the Afghanistan Cricket Board for the forthcoming season in Kabul.
Six teams namely Band-e-Amir Dragons, Speenghar Tigers, Amo Sharks, Bost Defenders, Mis-e-Ainak Knights and Kabul Eagles were available for grab. As per details provided by the ACB, up to 25 local and foreign firms and consortiums took part in the auction.
The Band-e-Amir Dragons were sold against $ 150, 000, followed by Amo Sharks for $ 110, 000, Bost Defenders against $ 80, 000, Mis-e-Ainak Knights for $ 90, 000, Kabul Eagles for $ 89, 000, and Speenghar Tigers for $ 69, 000. The teams would be led by national players Mirwais Ashraf, Shahpur Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Asghar Stanikzai, and Shafiqullah Shafaq respectively.
The ACB plans to hold player’s auction later this year. The fifth edition of the Shpageeza would be played in August this year.
