KABUL (SW) – Afghanistan’s national football team of under 17-year-old boys has made it to the final of Subroto Cup Football Tournament, one of the famous football tournaments in India.
According to the Afghanistan Football Federation, the Afghan side overpowered its opponent to make it to the final of the event. In the semi-final played in Kerala, Afghanistan defeated the local team 1-0.
The match’s only goal was scored by Shabir for Afghanistan that secured a place in the final for his team.
Afghanistan would now play against a team from Bangladesh in the final on November 20.
A total of 40 different teams from around the world participated in this tournament. The Afghan side impressed all with its six back-to-back victories in the tournament.
It is also important to note the under-14 team of boys and young girls’ team from Afghanistan also participated in the event.
Separately, the Afghan national side is busy in a training camp in Turkey. It lost the maiden friendly to Antalya’s club 0-1.
