State Builder team dominates the election campaign drive

KABUL (SW) –Three weeks since campaign for the presidential polls began, the State Builder team of incumbent President Ghani dominates the drive.

Information gathered by Salam Watandar indicates Ghani’s election team is leading the campaign in Kandahar, Baghlan, Faryab, Takhar, Badakhshan, Nangarhar, Logar, Ghazni, Farah and Badghes provinces.

The western Herat province, which is considered as an important vote bank, is not different either. Out of all 18 presidential candidates only Ashraf Ghani, Abdullah Abdullah, Faramarz Tamana and Rehmatullah Nabil are active for campaign here.

Civil activist Jawad Ameed and a local resident Waheed, told SW that the incumbent president and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah are leading the campaign drive by exploiting the state resources at their disposal.

In another major urban center Kandahar, the State Builder team of Ashraf Ghani is leading the campaign. Two Kandahar residents Qais and Hameedullah said the locals know nothing about any other candidate except Ghani and Abdullah. They said there is a need that the other candidates also share their manifestoes with the masses.

In the rest of provinces, though the election campaign seems sluggish, but posters of Ghani and Abdullah can be seen around.

In central Ghazni province, the locals said insecurity might have caused impediments for all candidates to launch their election campaigns here. Two local residents Arezo and Basher said only the posters of Ghani can been seen in the province.

We wished to have views of the State Builder team on allegations of using state resources, but to no avail.
