KABUL (SW) – The Stability and Partnership electoral team by Abdullah Abdullah on Monday raised concerns over process of recounting the votes cast in presidential polls.
Nur Rehman Akhlaqi, a member of the SP team, said at a press conference that the recount in the presence of those involved in rigging cannot ensure transparency in the process.
He stressed the recount should only begin after sorting out of the process is completed. He added some 700 devices of biometric verification have been lost, and the election commission has no record of them.
Salam Watandar wished to have the views of the Independent Election Commission on this, but repeated calls were not responded.
The IEC announced here on Sunday that the recount for presidential polls at provincial level would begin on Monday.
