Son of former police chief kills 2 men in Faryab

MAIMANA (SW): The son of a former district police chief in Faryab has shot two people dead in revenge of his father’s killing.

Well-informed sources told Salam Watandar that the son of Mohammad Nasim Qateh, former police chief for Almaar district, has killed two people in his private prison. Qateh was a former Mujahedeen commander, and got killed in a roadside landmine blast in the Chagatak area of the district earlier this year. Members of his family reportedly took into custody three people in this connection, and finally killed Alahudin and Sardar in their private prison.

Mohammad Naeem Indrabi, security chief at the provincial police headquarters, has only confirmed killing of the two peope in this regard. He said further investigations to assess the situation are underway. Abdul Manan Qateh, member of the provincial council, has confirmed that the two men have been killed by family members of the deceased district police chief. He went on to say the police was aware about their custody.
