KABUL (SW): Some Wolesi Jirga (lower house) in the Monday’s session praised the recent Presidential decree on early retirement of military officers.
Sakhi Mashani, a member of the house, said the current situation of the country requires serious reforms in the security institutions. Supporting the Presidential decree insisted on the execution of the decree for early retirement of military officers. According to him, the government should assure the WJ from the early retirement of the military officers since they have served the nation well.
Sayed Nadir Shah Bahr, another member of the house, also supporting the early retirement of the military officers said the system should become young.
But, Dawlat Waziri, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, one day ago told Salam Watandar that 2 thousand officers of the Ministry are suited for retirement.
Based on reports, if the Presidential decree on reforms in the security sector is executed the proposed plan will make 60 per cent of Ministry of Interior, 50 per cent of Ministry of Defense and 40 per cent of National Directorate of Security officers jobless.
