KUNAR (SW): The local officials said snow avalanche killed 10 people including children and women in the Chapa Dara district of this province and injured one.
This incident happened yesterday late afternoon in the mountainous area in the village of Bahadur.
Ghani Musamem, spokesperson for the Governor of Kunar, in a conversation with Salam Watandar, said that as many as 10 people were killed and one was injured as a result of snow avalanche in Chapa Dara district, and possibly this number may change.
According to Musamem, they have ordered the Natural Disaster Management Authority to go to the area of incident as soon as possible and help the affected people.
Shafiqullah Yawar, one of the residents of Chapa Dara in Kunar, in a telephone conversation, told Salam Watandar that due to the snow avalanche, a woman and four children of a family have lost their lives and one was injured.
Last night in Achin district of Nangarhar as well, the heavy rainfall killed 3 people. According to the residents in the area, 150 livestocks were also lost as a result of the heavy rainfalls in this province.
Recently the blizzards and the downpour of the snow and rain have begun to flood across the country, along with the financial and human losses in some provinces; roads have also been closed to traffic.
