MAIMANA (SW) – At least 60 Taliban rebels, including four militant commanders, got killed in joint operation by the U.S. and Afghan forces.
The 209 – Shaheen Corps issued a statement noting the air raids were conducted on the Taliban military facilities in the province. The statement added among those killed included the Taliban’s financial affairs head for five provinces, Mawlawi Gand Ali, head of courts for Qaisar district, Mawlawi Hafeezullah, deputy governor for Qaisar, Mawlawi Khan Agha, and a regional commander Mawlawi Nasir Faryabi.
The statement added two Taliban rebels have been arrested, and a large cache of arms, ammunition, vehicles and motorcycles destroyed.
The Taliban have not commented on this so far.
