KABUL (SW): Wicket-keeper batsman Shahzad Mohammadi has left a number of leading international players behind by scoring more runs than any in a specific period.
Shahzad has scored 297 in the current year, more than hard hitting batsmen like A. B. Devilliers, Chris Gayle and Barnden McCollum. He achieved this target in the 11 international T20 matches he played for his nation.
Shahzad scored 3 half centuries and also went for duck 2 times. All in all, the star batsman hit 15 sixes and 31 fours, averaging 27 and facing a total of 190 balls in the matches he played this year. The Afghan player is also leading others in the numbers of 6s and 4s.
Behind the stumps, Shahzad hunted five opponents during a match against Oman, making him stand with the legends like Adam Gilchrist, and Matt Prayer, Kamran Akmal and Neil O’Brian.
