KABUL (SW): Central zone’s Shaheen Aasmaye has won the under-14 Inter-Zone Football Championship, Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) said on Wednesday.
The AFF said that the champion side defeated Tofan-e-Harirod following penalty shootouts in the final match. The match played in Goal Football Stadium remained goalless equalizer in the given time. Shaheen Asmaye scored four against the two goals scored by its rival Tofan-e-Harirod.
In the semifinal rounds, the Shahaeen Asmaya overpowered Semurgh Alburz 3-1 in penalty shootouts. Tofan-e-Harirod defeated De Maiwand Atalan with 3 against 1 goal. At the end of the championship, Semurgh Alburz was crowned as the most disciplined team.
A total of eight teams that included Shahaeen Asmaya, Tofan-e-Harirod, Semurgh Alburz, De Maiwand Atalan, De Spingar Bazan, De Abasin Sapay, Mojha-e-Amo and the Uqaban-e-Hindukush competed for the title.
The Afghanistan Football Federation has been organizing internal championships since 2012 but this is the first time an under-14 tournament has been organized.
