KABUL (SW): Members of the Masharano Jirga (upper house) on Tuesday declared their un-shattered support for President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani against the Taliban, Haqani Network, Daesh and Al-Qaeda.

The President, while speaking at a joint session of the parliament on Monday, said that Daesh, Haqani and elements in the Taliban are the enemies of Afghanistan. He emphasized that the decree issued on the execution of some prisoners would be implemented in true spirit.

The senators welcomed these remarks at the session on Tuesday and said that those who have killed innocent people should be executed.

Gul Ahmad Azami, a senator, said on the occasion that the house would support the President’s remarks if they are not only words but action.

Lailuma Ahmadi, another senator, said that the enemy has been defined since years and from now on there should be no negligence when it comes to fighting it.

She urged the government to implement the laws against those who are anti-Islam and humanity.

Fazel Hadi Muslimyar, the Speaker for Masharano Jirga (upper house), said that 52 prisoners accused of killing Afghan citizens who have been sentenced to death by the court, have not been executed yet. He said that security as well as justice would not be ensured unless these prisoners are punished.

Meanwhile, hundreds of residents in southern Helmand province declared their support for the President’s recent remarks. In a gathering on Tuesday, they said that the enemies of the country were defined and specified by the President at last.
