FRANKFURT (SW): Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) has concluded its three-day selection camp for expat Afghans in the German city of Frankfurt.
The camp was established under the supervision of national team’s German coach Slaven Skeledzic. According to the AFF, some 24 Afghans residing in different European countries, the U.S. and Australia were called for the camp.
Their skills and abilities were examined for the ultimate selection for the national squade, AFF said in the statement. AFF would organise a similar camp in Afghanistan soon and finally players selected from both the camps would be trialed in Dubai.
On August 03, Afghanistan would play a friendly match in Thailand against the host nation. Later, on August 08 the national team would take on Asian giant Japan in Iran for the World Cup qualifier.
In two qualifying rounds so far, Afghanistan has lost its match against Syria and won against Cambodia that placed the country ranked third in its Group E.
