KABUL (SW) – Sediq Seddiqi, spokesman for the presidency, has rejected reports about talks with rival electoral camps for resolution of the political impasse.
In a tweet on Thursday, he said no talks with any political camp have been held so far. He added President Ashraf Ghani is determined to form an inclusive government.
Earlier, Enayatullah Babar Farahmand, proposed vice president of the Stability and Cohesion electoral team led by Abdullah Abdullah, claimed the talks have indeed taking place. He said the talks between the rival electoral teams took place after mediation by the U.S. Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad and senior Afghan political and Jihadi figures.
Farahmand claimed this led to delay in oath taking ceremony and appointment of provincial governors.
