Security Roundup: 6 Security forces 70 armed rebels killed

KABUL (SW): The Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI) claimed to have eliminated 70 armed rebels and 6 security forces lost in the past 36 hours.

As result of Afghan Nation Army (ANA) joint combat and clearance operations to defeat the enemy of country and people and create peace and stability in the various areas, 50 armed insurgents were killed, 38 were wounded, weapons and ammunitions confiscated, 32 various IED bombs discovered and destroyed, the MoD said.

According to the communiqué, operations were conducted in Shegal district of Konur, Poshtroad and capital city Farah, Shenkay district of Zabul, Dehrawod and Khas Urozgan districts of Urozgan, Andar district of Ghazni, Daimrdad district of Maidan Wardak, Sayed Karam district of Paktya, Soroubi district of Kabul and Alingar district of Laghman provinces.

Six brave ANA personnel martyred by enemy roadside IED bombs attacked in different part of country.

Meanwhile, the MoI said that the Afghan National Police (ANP) too conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with the ANA and National Directorate for Security (NDS) to clear some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.

The operations were conducted in Nangarhar, Kunduz, Faryab, Zabul, Oruzgan, Ghazni, Khost, Paktika, Paktiya, Farah and Helmand provinces, as a result 11 armed insurgents were killed, seven wounded and two others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces, it said.
Seperately, the 201 Selab Corps has claimed to have killed nine rebels and arrested 11 others including a Pakistani doctor serving the militants in eastern Nangarhar province.
