KUNDUZ CITY (SW): Gen. Qasim Jangal Bagh, Police Chief in northern province Kunduz, has informed of pro-Daesh rebels’ activities in Chahardara district in the province.

He said that their findings suggest that nearly 120 pro-Daesh militants were active in Chahardara district who have recently joined the Taliban.

He further said that many of this group’s members are foreign nationals and the security forces are fully prepared to suppress them.

Amruddin Wali, one of the members at Kunduz Provincial Council, while confirming Daesh’s presence, said that based on the hearsay Daesh is active in various areas in the province.

He warned that if the military operations were not conducted against both Taliban and Daesh, the security situation could further worsen.

Earlier, former governor of Kunduz informed of 70 Daesh fighters who were active in Kunduz but security forces’ officials did not buy into it.
