GHAZNI (SW): Transporters in Ghazni on Sunday staged protest against alleged extortion by security forces on the highway to Paktika.
The protesting transporters said the security forces physically and verbally abuse them as well. They vowed to continue with the protest if their demands for safety and extortion-free travel are not ensured.
Governor Ghazni, Abdul Karim Mateen, has said he is aware about the situation, and efforts are underway to address the matter.
A while ago, protesters in Paktika took to the streets against insecurity on highways leading to Paktia and Ghazni provinces.
