PUL-E-KHUMRI (SW): Locals in Baghlan province have charged Mohammad Hanif Kohgadaey for encroaching upon an amenity plot of one jerib in the Pul-e-Khumri city.

Mohammad Anwar, a local street councilor in Pul-e-Khumri, told Salam Watandar that the PC secretary is eyeing to erect a high-rise building on this plot meant for public park and greenbelt. He said the area encroached upon by Kohgadaey has been earmarked for public use.

Hussain Ali, a local resident, said in this regard that all are aware about the illegal act committed by the secretary of the PC, and he should be stopped. The locals have vowed to take to the streets if their concerns are not addressed.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ehsan, director for water supply in Baghlan, has stressed that the plan for developing the amenity plot has been approved by government, and soon work would commence. He added the locals have informed the provincial authorities about encroachment.

Rejecting the claims, the secretary of the Baghlan PC said he possess legal documents of possession of the property.
