KABUL (SW): The sixth season of the ongoing Afghan Premier League (APL) has entered second week.
According to the Afghanistan Football Fedration (AFF), De Abbasin Sape would take on Simurg Alburz on Wednesday. This is the first encounter for both the teams in this season of the APL. The match would commence at 03:30 PM local time at the AFF stadium in Kabul.
As per the schedule, the Spingar Bazan – after winning its first match in the first week – would take on Uqaban-e-Hindukush on Thursday. The last match of the second week of actions would feature De Abbasin Sape and the De Maiwand Atalan on Friday. De Maiwand Atalan has already won its first match in the first week against the Tofan-e-Harirod.
Many goals were scored by different teams during the first week. The defending champion Shaheen Amaye defeated Spinghar Bazan 4-3 in the first match of the league. This was followed by a 4-2 victory for De Maiwand Atalan over Tofan-e-Harirod in the second match of the league. In the third match of the first week, Mawjhai Amu defeated Uqaban-e-Hindukush 1-0.
A total of eight teams are competing for the title. The eight teams are divided in two groups with Shaheen Asmaye, Spinghar Bazan, Uqaban-e-Hindukush, and Mawjhai Amu in Group A while De Maiwand Atalan, Simurg Alburz, De Abbasin Sape and Tofan-e-Harirod in Group B.
