LASHKARGAH (SW): In a cleansing operation, at least 25 Taliban rebels including 4 Pakistani militants have been killed in Helmand province
Abdul Rahim Chaghansori, Commander of the Afghan National Police (ANP)’s 505 zone, told Salam Watandar allied forces have targeted Taliban’s hideouts in Musa Qala district. He said a number of Taliban fighters, including at least four Pakistani militants were killed in this attack. He noted the Taliban were conducting a large meeting in the main Bazar of the district when they were hit. According to the zone 505 commander, high-ranking militants have been killed in this attack.
Among those killed in this offensive include a number of Taliban’s shadow district chiefs and operation commanders.
Abdul Rahim Chaghansori confirmed 15 more militants were injured including 2 ‘ISI agents’. A large cache of arms and ammunition has also been destroyed in this attack, he said.
Taliban have not commented in this regard so far.
