TALEQAN (SW): Mahmud Haidari, a school prinical in Kalafghan district in northern Takhar province, along with his armed men accomplices raped a girl, Yakhshi Gul, after kidnaping her 7 days ago.
Local government in Takhar has kept the incident a secret from the media.
Yakhshi Gul, the victim, is a resident of Qarato village in Kalafgan district.
In an interview with Salam Watandar, she said that the school principal and his armed men kidnapped her while she was on her way home and made her unconscious by a medicine and then shifted her to Chinar Gunjeshkan village, which borders Keshm district in Badakshan province.
She said that since she was unconscious she doesn’t know the exact number of those who have raped her.
The next morning, the principal paid a police officer called Dur Mohammad afn 500 to take Yakhsi Gul to her house but things got out of control as Yakhshi Gul screamed and drew the attention of the residents, which led the police to arrest Dur Mohammad.
Yakhshi Gul said that the principal is a son of Zabit Haidar, former Jihadi commander, who is at large in Kalafgan and enjoys full impunity.
She added that despite her parent’s efforts, the local government doesn’t pay any attention to her case and a number of local officials support Mahmmud Haidari.
Police Chief in Takhar, refused to comment on the incident but a number of local officials confirmed that Yakhshi Gul has been gang raped.
Sunat Timor, Spokesman for Takhar Governor, said that residents have always complained about Mahmud Haidari and his armed men. He said that Mahmud Haidari has escaped and the police tries to catch and arrest him.
