Schools lack infrastructure in Paktia

GARDEZ (SW): Only 33 per cent of schools have buildings in Paktia province; out of 360 schools 120 schools have proper buildings.

Kochi Zazai, acting director at the provincial directorate of education, urged government to resolve the issue.

The residents of Paktia complaining on the matter said our children cannot pursue education properly due to lack of school infrastructure. The students also want the government to provide proper facilities for education. The students further added “We attend school in harsh winter and summer weather under open sky”.

There are 100 high schools and 87 primary and secondary schools in the province. More than 200 thousand students out of which one third are girls attend schools in Paktia.
