GHOR (SW): The local Sarhad FM radio station has not been able to resume transmissions after unknown attackers torched its offices in the Feroz Koh city in Ghor.
Ahmad Shah Mohed, director transmissions, told Salam Watandar that efforts to revive the transmissions have failed to yield results due to shortage of funds, and lack of attention from the donors. He also blamed the security officials for not helping in identifying and arresting the culprits involved in the attack.
Ghulam Nabi Hadafmand, head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee in Ghor, said in this regard that the attack on Sarhad radio has discouraged local journalists. He added if the perpetrators of this attack are not brought to justice, many journalist would lose jobs.
For some four years, the Sarhad FM radio has been broadcasting news, informative and entertainment programs in Feroz Koh city.
