SAR-I-PUL (SW) – Hundreds of the Taliban rebels have surrounded the Sancharak district of Sar-i-Pul province, an official said on Tuesday.
Assadullah Khuram, member of the provincial council, told Salam Watandar the main roads connecting the district have been closed for the past many days. He said up to 200 Taliban rebels have gathered in the Masjid Sabz and Top Khana areas of the district.
Naqibullah Daqiq, district governor, said in this regard that the government’s alleged negligence might led to fall of the district.
A number of security forces under the siege of the Taliban have said they are facing shortage of food and resources.
