KABUL (SW): The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said there is a strong possibility that Moscow may clinch a deal with the U.S on Afghanistan just as it did in Syria.
The revelation came from the Russian Foreign Minister in a joint press conference with his Afghan counterpart Salahudin Rabbani in Moscow on Tuesday. “We are increasingly worried about terrorist activities in Afghanistan, but there is a possibility of making a deal with U.S on the issue”, said Lavrov.
Salahudin Rabbani, the Afghan Foreign Minister, stressed terrorism is the main cause of insecurity in the region. Rabbani urged upon the need to collectively fight terrorism in the region. He said there is no doubt terrorism and insurgency exist in the region, but combating terrorism requires collective efforts. Rabbani said some countries in the region provide safe havens to terrorists, and supply arms to insurgents.
