KABUL (SW) – The Shaheen Asmaye and Toofan Harirod have made it to the final of 7th edition of the Rahmani Foundation Afghan Premier league (RFAPL).
The Toofan Harirod overpowered De Abasin Sapi in the second semi-final last night with a clear margin of 4-0 to secure the place in the final.
Rauf Qaderi scored two back-to-back goals for the victorious side in the semi-final to give an edge to his side. The lead was later consolidated by Rehmtullah and Maruf Mohammadi with one goal each to deny the De Abasin Sapi any chance of return.
For the Toofan Harirod, this is the second time since 2012 to make it to the final of the mega event.
In the first semi-final, the Shaheen Asmaye defeated De Maiwand Atalan in a nail-biting match 1-0 thanks to the only goal of the match scored by Mustafa Afshar. This is the sixth time for the defending champion Shaheen to make it to the final.
Since its inception in 2012, the APL has been won record four times by the Shaheen Asmaye and one time each by the Toofan Harirod and De Spinghar Bazan.
This year’s final is scheduled to be played on Thursday.
