CHARIKAR (SW) – Resumption of an old feud between two families in Parwan province has forced up to 40 families to flee for safety.
Five years ago, a deadly feud between two local families in the Guzar Paeen area of the Jabala Siraj district left 12 people, including women and children, killed. Back then, local elders mediated to enforce a truce, but the act of ‘revenge’ committed by one party to the conflict has forced some 40 families to flee the area.
Residents of the village told Salam Watandar they cannot go to their homes out of fear. They demanded the government to provide security.
Meanwhile, the provincial administration in Parwan vowed to have resolved the dispute.
Waheedda Shahkar, spokesman for the provincial governor, said in this regard that the provincial governor has formed a task force to resolve this matter.
