Repatriation of over 80 thousand Afghans in two months

KABUL (SW): Sayed Hussein Alimi Balkhi, the Minister of Refugees and Repatriations, has said since the mid-March more than 8 thousand documented and undocumented refugees have returned from Pakistan and Iran.

The Minister told the Wolesi Jirga (lower house) on Wednesday that more than one million refugees repatriated from Pakistan and Iran last year. The Minister also talked about the finalization of 530 million dollars strategy for the reintegration of the repatriates. The strategy aims to solve problems of the refugees and repatriates.

Nasir Ahmad Andisha, deputy minister at the Ministry of Finance (MoFA), said on the occasion that more than 500 electronic identification cards (e-Tazkira) are distributed to the Afghans in Saudi Arabia. “The problem of distribution of e-Tazkira is not completely solved for Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Iran. These refugees have to come to Kabul to get their cards”, Andisha told the members of the WJ.

Ahmad Shah Salehi, deputy minister at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, said the Ministry has practical approach for the skilled workers who wish to go abroad for work, based on this approach a skilled worker should take special courses designed by the Ministry.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Nazir Ahmadzai, depty speaker of the house, gave the ministries two weeks’ time to hand over a comprehensive report against the questions of the members associated with their respective ministries.
