Najib Sahel, Head of the CPS, told Salam Watandar that their objective is to prevent fanaticism and therefore they have drafted a strategy to be applied across the country.

He said that they invited popular influential religious scholars from a number of Islam countries to participate the conference and their views were exchanged regarding extremism and how to keep it at bay.

Dr. Mohammad Ahamad, an Egyptian religious scholar who attended the conference, said that countering extremism in Afghanistan is a quintessential step to be taken.

He went on to say that Islam invites its followers to peace. He said extremism, no matter where it is, always leads to destruction.
