KABUL (SW): Afghanistan’s rising global cricket sensation Rashid Khan is likely to spark bidding war at the forthcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction thanks to his impeccable performance.
In the past couple of years, Rashid has featured in literally all commercial Twenty 20 cricket leagues. He has been named among the top players that the management of IPL teams would desire to acquire.
Unknown to many, under the mentorship of Muttiah Muralitharan, Rashid took the IPL by storm last year by consistently taking wickets at a very economical rate. He was arguably one of the focal points of the Sunrisers' season, as he played an instrumental role in them reaching the playoffs.
Rashid is also handy with the bat and is more than capable to play a few cameos down the order. Having performed well in other franchise tournaments from around the world, Rashid is likely to spark off a bidding war.
Among other players that can spark such bidding war is Chris Lynn from Australia, Colin Munro from New Zealand, Evin Lewis from West Indies and Ben Stokes from England.
