KABUL (SW): In an exclusive interview with Salam Watandar, world-class Afghan bowler Rashid Khan Arman has rejected reports about moving to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Social media was flooded with such reports earlier this week in which it was asserted that Rashid has bought a new house in the UAE, and has plans to settle down there for security reasons. Talking to Salam Watandar on phone, the ‘goodly master’ said he has no such plans. “I do not know who is spreading such news and why?” he said.
Rashid made a handsome fortune at the latest season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. He is considered among the wealthy sportsmen in the country as more and more international cricket clubs are eyeing to acquire this talented young spinner. In his interview, Rashid said he is happily living with his family in Nangarhar province.
The 18-year-old further said he is aware about the evil plans of match-fixers, and always stays close to his teammates in a bid to avoid unnecessary contacts with the bookies. Khan is part of the national team that would take on the MCC team for a landmark One-Day match at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground on July 11.
