KABUL (SW): The International Cricket Council has published the list of the best cricketers of the year for 2017 and Afghanistan is on the list once again.
Afghanistan’s leg-spinner, Rashid Arman has been named the ICC Associate Cricketer of the year 2017.
Kyle Coetzer from Scotland, and William Porterfield Captain of Ireland national cricket team, were also nominated for this award, however, with the shining of the Afghan National Cricket team in 2017 and tremendous performances of Rashid Arman, Afghanistan won this award.
Along with playing for the Afghan National Cricket Team, Rashid Arman has also played for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League, Strikers in Australia’s Big Bash and for the Caribbean Premier League in 2017.
Rashid Arman who is known as Google Master, claimed 60 wickets during the year in international matches – a record for an Associate player in a calendar year in 50 over ODI matches.
Previously Hamid Hassan, Nawrooz Mangal, Dawlat Zadran, and Shahzada Mohammadi were nominated for the Associate Cricketer of the year, and Shahzada Mohammadi won this award in 2016.
