
KABUL (SW) – Inayat Babur Farahmand, secretary for the office of first vice president, Abdul Rasheed Dostum, confirmed on Friday Nezammuddin Qaisari, a known commander of the Junbish party, has been released.
Qaisari, who was also police commander of the Qaisar district in Faryab, was arrested some six months ago on charges of violating human rights of the civilians. The arrest of Qaisari sparked widespread protests in the northern provinces.
It remains unclear under what conditions he has been released.
