HERAT (SW): Dozens of residents of Herat today staged a protest against the head of Herat’s Provincial Council, Kamran Alizai chanting slogans accusing him of bullying and hounding.
The protesters said they have gathered to “say no” to bullying.
A week ago, dozens of people staged a protest in front of the Directorate of Education in Herat and called for the resignation of Abdul Razaq Ahmadi, the head of the Directorate of Education in the province. Following this protest, Kamran Alizai held a press conference insisting on the closure of the Directorate of Education in a week.
Kamran Alizai had accused the head of Directorate of Education of spreading ethnic tension among residents of Herat; however, Abdul Razaq Ahmadi called the accusations baseless.
Jilani Farhad, spokesperson for the Governor of Herat informed that the high-level delegations from the Presidential Palace and the Wolesi Jirga (lower House of Representatives) have arrived in Herat to investigate recent conflicts between the head of Provincial Council and the head of Directorate of Education, in a compressive way and end the tension.
