KABUL/ HERAT (SW): Tens of residents in Kabul and Herat took to the streets on Wednesday near Iranian Embassy and Consulate urging its judicial institutions to punish the murderer of Setayesh Quraishi.
Setayesh Quraishi, a six years old Afghan girl, was kidnapped by her neighbor two weeks ago from Varamin near Tehran.
She was raped and stabbed to death before her killer, 17 years old Iranian youngster, attempted to destroy her dead body with acid.
The protestors in the capital city Kabul urged Iranian government to change its policies towards Afghan refugees living in Iran in addition to considering Setayesh’s case.
They also asked International Human Rights Organization to seriously follow the case so that the justice
Fatema Farahi, Head of Womens’ Network in Herat, told Salam Watandar that the culprit of such horrendous crime should be punished.
A number of women’s rights activists warned that if government of Afghanistan as well as Iran didn’t pay any attention to Setayesh’s case, people would take to the streets.
Setayesh’s despicable murder caused a stir in social media and the users condemned the incident.
