SHEBERGHAN (SW) – Dozens of dismissed employees of the North Oil and Gas Technical Services Survey have warned that if the government ignored their demands, they will ‘close down’ the Presidential palace and the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum.
Those who participated at the protested rally in Sheberghan, the capital of Jawzjan province, on Saturday warned that if their demands were not met, they would stand up against government and do everything they could to meet their demands.
Many supporters of the Junbish party in Jawzjan also joined the protest.
More than 400 employees of the North Oil and Gas Technical Services Survey have recently been sacked by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. In the spring of this year, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum reduced the staff in this connection.
The protesters said their agitation has entered second week, but the government has yet to pay any attention.
However, Abdul Qadir Mutafi, a spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, has said work is underway on a solution.
