HERAT CITY (SW): Hundreds of supporters of Kamran Alizayi, head of Herat’s provincial council, have poured on streets in protest for the sentence previously passed in absentia by primary court of anti-corruption tribunal.
The protestors marched through the provincial administration office and Islamqala city which resulted in road closure for commuters on Saturday. Some of the protestors were armed. The protestors claimed that the prosecution of head of Herat’s provincial council is biased. “If the government does not respond to our demands, we will close Herat-Kandahar road too”, warned the protestors.
The protestors want the government and the Supreme Court of the country to 'fairly' decide in the case of Kamran Alizayi.
