Protesters denounce ‘planned catastrophe’ in Ghazni

13/08/2018

KABUL (SW) – Scores of Ghazni residents in Kabul staged a protest demonstration against the government’s alleged negligence in the wake of deadly Taliban assaults.

The protesters claimed ‘a planned catastrophe’ has been imposed on Ghazni, and the government is sitting idle in the face of it. The protesters said many of those civilians caught between the cross fire have lost lives, and many more are facing acute shortage of food, medicine and other basic supplies.

Two such protesters, Inayat Nasiri and Salman Ali, said the people are fed-up with the government due to its failure in safeguarding the lives of civilians. The demonstrators have erected protest camps in different parts of the city.

The Taliban stormed Ghazni early on Friday, and fighting continued on fourth day today.
