KANDAHAR (SW) – Residents of Uruzgan province on Sunday staged a protest demonstration against the closure of main roads here.
The protesters gathered in front of the provincial administration compound and blocked its entrance. They demanded the government to take immediate steps towards reopening the key inter-province roads as well as the main Kandahar – Uruzgan highway.
The protesters also demanded the Taliban insurgents to reopen the roads.
There have been no comments from the government officials of the Taliba in this connection.
