PARWAN (SW): According to sources, a 65-year-old woman was killed and her two young boys were arrested as a result of last night’s operation of police of 222 brigades in Rubat village of Bagram district in Parwan province.
Today, hundreds of the residents of Rubat village rallied to the streets at the Charikar square and demanded the release of the detainees.
Mir Malik, father of Matin and Bakhtiar, who were arrested on Saturday night’s operation by police said his children have been working in a private company and are not affiliated with any party or group.
The protesters called the police operation as “unauthorized” and not coordinated with the security forces. Some of the protesters told Salam Watandar that the police of 222 brigades had searched the residence of Mir Malik without any warrant and without the presence of the judicial members and have arrested his two sons without any charges.
The protesters have blocked the Kabul highway to North and said that the highway will remain closed until they receive a compelling answer from the government.
Meanwhile, the local government of Parwan, one and a half hours after the start of the protest, has sent Ghulam Bahauddin Jilani, Parwan Provincial Council Chairman to the talk to the protesters.
Jilani said in a meeting with the protesters that the detainees will be released today before the night, and the local government of Parwan and the Ministry of Interior will seriously investigate this case.
Although the chairman of the Parwan Provincial Council urged the protesters to open the highway for passengers and send their representatives for talks with the local authorities at the Governorate of Parwan, the protesters rejected his appeal and the blockage of the Kabul highway is in place.
An anonymous source in the National Directorate of Intelligence told Salam Watandar that the operation was launched without coordination with the security authorities of Parwan, which involved the arrest of two members of a family, and four Kalashnikovs (AK-47) and two rifles have been confiscated from their house during the operation.
