The protestors accused Fraidon Ahmadi of discrimination and corruption. These protestors blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway for 2 hours, and then marched for some 2km in the city. The protestors blamed Fraidon Ahmadi of having embezzled as much as afn 3 billion when he was in-charge of the municipality department in the province.
The protestors went on stating that Amhadi has confiscated thousands of acres of land, and has caused rifts among the different ethnic groups.
Representing the demonstrators, Abdul Jamey, a member to Ghazni Provincial Council, urged the government to address their demands. He added if the government did not pay attention to their demands, they would continue their protest and block the Kabul-Kandahar highway.Jamey said that he has received a phone call from the government that things would be settled by the end of the current week.
Fraidon Ahmadi, on the other hand, told Salam Watandar that the protestors do not represent any ethnic group in Ghazni. “They are pursuing the interests of a minor privileged group”, he added.
