
SHARAN (SW): Hundreds of Paktika residents on Monday took to the streets against rampant abductions and killings on highways linking the province with Ghazni and Paktia provinces.
The protesters said many locals have been abducted and killed on these highways. They vowed to hold massive protest rallies if security on these roads are not ensured.
The protestors chanted slogans against the governor of Ghazni province. The Paktika provincial council has acknowledge the grimness of the concerns in this regard.
Mohammad Ayaz, spokesman for the provincial governor, informed Salam Watandar that the provincial administration has discussed ways and means to resolve the situation with the provincial administrations in Paktia and Ghazni proivnes.
As many as 15 local elders and youngsters were killed last year on these highways leading to Paktika.
